Dr. Sarat Cheruvu is an Australian-trained heart specialist with a particular focus on advanced cardiac imaging, hereditary cardiomyopathies, peri-operative cardiac risk assessment, and the evaluation of acute chest pain syndromes. He obtained his academic and research honours from the University of New South Wales, where he completed his thesis on the physiology of the renin-angiotensin system.
Dr. Cheruvu completed his physician's training at St Vincent's Hospital in Sydney, followed by advanced training in Cardiology within the Central Coast and Royal North Shore Network. Further enhancing his expertise, he pursued a post-graduate fellowship at the esteemed Advanced Cardiac Imaging Centre in St Vincent's Hospital. This fellowship provided specialised training in cardiac CT, cardiac MRI, and transesophageal echocardiography.
As a heart specialist, Dr. Cheruvu is deeply committed to teaching and has served as an associate lecturer for both the University of New South Wales and University of Western Sydney.
Dr. Cheruvu provides comprehensive care to patients with a wide range of cardiac conditions, including ischaemic heart disease, arrhythmias, and heart failure. He possesses specific expertise in the application of advanced cardiac imaging techniques for the assessment of cardiovascular disease.
